Flying Books Workshop: Brilliant Beginnings and Epic Endings P2

The two most stressful parts of completing a novel-in-progress are creating a strong opening and landing a satisfying conclusion.

Capturing a reader in the opening pages is a critical part of getting them to take a book home. Learning how to do that remains a challenge and an ever-evolving mystery every writer must face, and the skills involved take careful focus.

And once a reader is drawn in, once they make their way through the novel, how do you end a story you’ve carefully crafted? How do you end a book? Do you satisfy the reader? Do you give them answers and hope?

In this two-part class, fiction writers will learn important tips for strengthening openings, followed by a deep dive into the careful work of ending well.

Each session will involve key lessons, close readings, and practice exercises that will allow writers to evaluate and shape a work-in-progress or plot out a new project.

NOTE: There is a cost to register. For fees and for other registration information, head to the Flying Books registration page.
